Texas Adoption Day

Texas Adoption Day

The Texas Legislature has declared that the Saturday before Thanksgiving of each year is Texas Adoption Day.  This year, Texas Adoption Day is on November 17, 2012.  This day is set aside to celebrate and encourage adoption, adoptive families, and adoption workers in Texas.

There are more than 6,000 children placed in the Texas Foster Care System who are legally free to be adopted but who are lingering, waiting to be matched with their “Forever Family”.  This year, as Texas Adoption Day approaches, consider opening your heart and your home to adopting these children into your family.  If enhancing your family through adoption isn’t an option for you and your family at this time, consider making a monetary donation to support adoption workers in recruiting, training, and supporting families who are able to become a Forever Family for these children.
